Podczas konwentu Gladius rozegrałem bitwę pod Bicoccą 1522 w systemie Field of Glory Renaissance. Figurki 15mm. Starcie armii imperialnej z Francuzami i będącymi na ich żołdzie szwajcarskimi najemnikami.
It's been a long time since last battle report (in fact since any post on my blog for what I apologise readers).
During Gladius convent I've played a pattle of Bicocca (1522) in FOG Renaissance. Imperial forces clashed with the French and their Swiss mercenaries.
Imperial forces in a fortified camp, Swiss pikemen prepare for the attack counting on spoils of war.
Three Swiss pikemen units
Imperial units behind field fortifications - three Colunelas (Spanish units composed of pikemen, arquebusiers and swordsmen), two landsknecht units, including Frundsberg's veterans and artillery in the first line. Cavalry in the second line near the romanesque chapel.
The Swiss attacked. Central pikemen unit was under heavy artiller fire but being an elite unit managed to pass all morale tests.
The French were quicker than in history to call for reinforcements composed of cavalry.
Situation after first two turns.
The weakest unit of the Imperial army - Milanese pikemen was ordered to guard a ford that led to the side of the Imperial camp.
Due to arrival of the French gendarmes Imperial cavalry made a turn and started to head towards exit of the camp.
